Don was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from
Rider high school in 1973. Don worked as a carpenter framing
residential and commercial buildings for 4 years after high school.
Unable to work due to bad weather one day, he decided to drive to
Texas Tech in Lubbock. Following his love for art and architecture the
college of architecture seemed like a great fit.
In 1978, Don enrolled in the college of architecture at Texas Tech
University and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
architecture.
Don worked while he attended school for a local architecture firm BGR. Founded by local architect Herbert Brasher, it is here that Don grew as an architect studying education, medical facility and interior design practices.
Don registered with the state of Texas in 1985 as a professional architect and shortly after founded Design Resources. A Lubbock based residential design firm offering new and remodel architectural services.
In 2002, Don began working with Steve Mueller on commercial and residential design. Today Don is the Chief architect of Universal Design Consortium, Inc. His expertise and guidance has been instrumental in UDC’s success as a sustainable architecture firm.
Don is best known for his work classical design approach in new and remodeled residential projects.
