Melanie Sams Bio

Melanie was born and raised in Texarkana, Arkansas. She graduated from

Arkansas high school in 1987.

Melanie enrolled into East Texas state University, currently Texas A&M

University at Texarkana, in 1988 and graduated with a Bachelor of science

degree in Bushiness Administration with a minor in accounting in 1992.

Melanie has more than 14 years business experience in real estate and

mortgage banking. Her roles include sales, operations and management in

both small and large companies.

In 2002, Melanie was licensed as a real estate agent and after six years and hundreds of property sales, in 2008 she became a licensed real estate broker. Melanie’s unique experience allows her increased knowledge on the financing side of the transaction as well as sales and can offer advice and guidence to clients in both areas.

She is excited to be the newest addition to UDC with a marketing, sales and business development role. Melanie will use her skills to create new opportunities for the company by introducing the zero energy sustainable architectural concept to West Texas Real Estate Brokers and Agents, city leadership, builders and potential homeowners.

Melanie’s strengths include her ability to find solutions to unique problems that arise in the home buying and selling process while at the same time making the transaction seamless to the client. She has bought and sold several homes of her own so she knows how important details are.

Melanie is activily engaged in social development and has been a active member of the Junior League since 2000, promoting volunteerism and developing the potential of women throughout Texas. She is also a member National Association of Realtors (NAR) and is enrolled in both the Dallas and Lubbock Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
